There’s always an excuse to put any exercise such as swimming, jogging once a week or joining a tennis club at the end of your ‘to do’ list. And once you have a baby, unless the father is a personal fitness instructor, working you through your ‘schedule’ everyday, the list of ‘no time to exercise’ excuses will only get longer and longer.
Unfortunately for you and certainly if you fall into the, ‘I had a baby recently’ category, the excuses to not exercise just ran out! To assist the newbie moms and dads (plus fitness fans) amongst us, a few established Baby Stroller companies now offer the ‘Jogging’ Stroller.
This is a baby stroller as we know it, but in some cases slightly larger, more sturdy and often with a more comfortable padded seat provided for your baby. But with all these strollers, what’s really different, is once you attach the provided jogging strap, secure junior in their padded seat and maybe check the strollers fully adjustable suspension, you can then tear around the park strapped to the stroller in the secure knowledge your little one is safe and protected. And although junior is travelling much faster than maybe they’re used to or should be – you are actually keeping fit!
One of the well built and stylish jogging strollers designed for keep fit parents, is the Bumbleride Indie stroller. Safe, secure but also lightweight, weighing only 20 lbs., it also has the added advantage of rear suspension as standard. With a 360 degree swiveling front wheel and one step rear braking system. It’s also capable of multi-terrain, with its 12 inch air filled tires that soak up the bumps!
The more ‘specialist’ outdoor company BOB, also have some amazing all terrain Jogging Strollers to drag you from the TV! The BOB Revolution SE (Sport Experience) stroller is a true all-terrain stroller great for jogging in the city parks, streets or along dirt trails. It has rugged air filled tires, plus a ‘state of the art’ adjustable suspension system that smooths out the bumps, giving your child a really comfortable ride. For your baby’s safety, a 5-point padded harness keeps your child safe and secure.
The Jogging Stroller is good news for everyone involved. Your baby is most definitely well protected due to the extent of the extra padding, suspension and seat comfort and quality these strollers provide. Also, your baby or toddler’s safety is again considered by the extra large wheels that soak up the muti-terrain you will be running up as your weight goes down, so everyone’s a winner.
The point of keeping fit is becoming a serious problem with many people in our society today. Its quite easy to drop in and out of the latest trend to keep the weight down, but consistency is key to any fitness regime becoming a success or failure. Some people use starting a family as an excuse to opt out of exercise all together, due to having less time available. Obviously, time is a major factor with a young family to look after but this is where the jogging stroller really wins. Due to the fact you can combine fitness with spending time looking after your baby, the concept of the jogging stroller is certainly something to consider as a keep fit consideration. If you are serious about keeping fit with baby and adding to your family, there’s even a Bob double stroller for the twins!
