In this day and age, do we have live agents any more? Do we need to refer to a live broker? What is the function of today’s life insurance broker, for example? Well, the fact of the matter is, is that insurance products (and financial derivatives) are doing more business at this point in time than at any point in history. And that’s given these brokers a good deal of work. Put another way: these systems, these automations that are going on right now all over this industry, that does nothing to these brokers’ plates. They’ve got their plates full, and they need all the help they can get. What’s actually happening is that these brokers are turning into data technicians, mining data, managing volumes of accounts; feats absolutely unheard of in the past. And now they’re able to do this, they’re able to leverage themselves in ways unforeseen just a few years ago.
